If I had a dollar for the amount of times people asked "Is that your real hair" (remember I have short blond hair - and these people all know me!) or asked "How'd you do that" - I'd have made some money on Sat night!I wish I would have taken pictures while I was getting ready - but you'll have to settle for the taking apart pics for an explanation!
HOW TO MAKE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN HAIR AT THE LAST MINUTE:
1. Cut strip of black poster board to width you'd like hair. Curve to create cone shape, make sure the width fits your head, staple in place. Trim the larger end to set at the correct angle on your head.
2. Use a black wig (mine was a child size witch wig) to cover the cone. Wrap the head part around the smallest end of the cone and staple in place. In pieces, wrap the hair part around the other side of the cone and staple in place. Doesn't have to be perfect, just needs to cover the cone.
3. Secure a headband to the larger end of the cone to hold it on head. I just fed it through the hair I'd wrapped around the edge.
4. Leave about an inch halo of hair loose, tie the rest up in a bun.5. Fit the cone hair piece into place. The headband prob won't be enough support. Use hair clips and bobby pins around the edge to secure to your head.
6. Spray wig with hairspray to make sticky. Tease your hair, then blend against wig and spray!! Continue to work your hair around the hair piece. You may need to use a couple bobby pin's to hold the sides and bottom of your hair against the hair piece. Use super hold hair spray!
7. Make sure you have hair in place and sturdy! (Important, because you will bump into it throughout the night!) Then spray with black hair spray until your hair blends with the wig!8. Last step is to spray the white/silver stripe. VOILA!
Now I'm all excited about what we will be next year! Maybe if we start planning now it'll be easier!PS: Reader Question - If we had dressed as Brett and Jes, would you have gotten it? That was my idea - but T was afraid no one watched Rock of Love, so it would have bombed :(
