J was one of the choosen few from his football association in Charlotte to ref an NC State High School Football Championship game this past weekend! Quite an accomplishment!!

Breaking an 83-year drought between state football titles, Asheville High used a trick play to beat Western Alamance, 13-10, in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A championship game at Wallace Wade Stadium.

It's that time of year.. everyone is making Christmas lists.. or at least thinking about what they wish Santa would bring them? What's on your list? What will people be fighting over in the stores? Anything on your list crazy and obscure and you think you're probably the only one asking for it?
Well if I could get anything my little heart desired... I'd have a hot tub and new deck at the top of my list. Since we know that won't be happening... my list consists of things like:

That's how many bulbs I planted in my flower beds this fall. It didn't seem like that many.. but now that I've added them up... oopps :) Oh well. they'll bloom at different times.. and hopefully it's going to be beautiful :) Plus this means I won't have to hesitate when I want to cut some for inside, I'll have plenty!

As I left the dollar store yesterday (picking up costumes for our Jingle Bell team - The Misfit Toys are two members short of our goal, you should sign up!), I noticed a sign that read 'Extreme Makeover Shuttle'. Interesting I thought... could it be THE EXTREME MAKEOVER??
Well I had forgotten all about it until last night when Blacksburg Alert sent out a message 'ABC’S EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION ARRIVES IN BLACKSBURG'. Exciting!! I'm slightly addicted to the show as part of my ABC Sunday night marathon :) I wish I had the opportunity to hang around the site all week and see how things come together... instead of just getting to watch the 45 mins they edit for TV. It amazes me how they coordinate to move out, demolish, build, and move into a house in 7 days. I will try to find time to spectate at least once. Demo day is tomorrow! If you have the time you can volunteer. Or you can follow along online.

Kinda cool our little town will get some national television time. (for something other then Hokie Football) I can't wait to watch the show which they predict will air later this winter.

1 - It's friday! Woohoo!
2 - The pinky's on my gloves are too long and make it hard to type! Especially to use the ctrl and shift key!
3 - I'm listening to REVOLUTION on sirius today... and I think rock might be my #2 music choice.
4 - I got 8 hours of sleep last night!!

I guess that's me, but really it sounds like my dad :) Yep I volunteered to coach a kids basketball team this winter. I heard the Upwards League was short coaches through my boss and decided why not. I've always wanted to coach... just need to get over my fear of actually doing it!! So tonight is the first practice. I'll be teaching 8 3rd/4th grade boys some basketball skills - and according to the coaches guide I'll also be 'looking for ways to instill confidence, boost self-esteem, and share Christ with the players.' I am pretty excited.. but also nervous! I've talked J into being my assistant! We'll keep you updated on our team. GO HEAT!
In other basketball news, when I left the gym this morning, the 'sometimes annoying' disc jockey on my country station was going on and on about giving away a ridculous number of Roanoke Dazzle tickets friday night. Then he said something about having to be single. (Apparently their promotion tomorrow night is singles night, they have some reception before the game) They were giving away tickets to the next 10 tickets. Well shoot, I qualify.... so I called and I was one of the 10 callers. Now I wonder why I called, I mean the game might be fun, but my partner in crime is currently in Nebraska. It was fun to win something though ;) If anyone is interested in going let me know, otherwise I'm sticking to my original plan of being a bum :)
