Ok not really - but you can pretend to be the DJ :)
I love music but am horrible at remembering artists and songs... so I'm looking for help from all you music buffs! We are not having a DJ - just queuing tunes on the iPod for the day. So we'll need....
pre wedding tunes (relaxing)
ceremony tunes
cocktail hour tunes (fun but not too crazy)
dinner tunes (relaxing)
reception tunes (for when we take a break from ballroom dancing)
Comment or send me an email!! Thanks in advance :)
Happy Birthday Annabelle Grace!

It turns out this is a start-up week for me. New Work-Out Plan, Good Dog Training, Pre-Marital Counseling.....
I: Back in January, being very excited to no longer be in school full time and working full time, T got motivated about getting back into shape. Specifically for our February Snowboarding trip, which I will blog about later - promise! He picked up The Body Sculpting Bible for Men from B&N and quickly devoured it. He raved about the book and suggested numerous times I pick the woman's version. I finally went on Amazon to do some research. Turns out not only to they have The Body Sculpting Bible for Women but they have The Body Sculpting Bible for Brides. So I bought them both :) I need a change of pace from Strictly Strength anyways. Or course I'm starting out with the book for brides. They have a 4 week, 8 week, and 12 week program. I started the 12 week lifting plan this week. Yesterday was upper body, and to tell you the truth I wasn't that impressed with how fatigued I felt during the workout. Haha - then I woke up this morning - I definitely have some sore muscles :) Today was the lower body workout. I'm not sure the last time I did a workout that was only legs - it's been years. Maybe that's why I don't remember any being this difficult!! I'm not holding my breath on being able to walk in the morning. Needless to say I'm excited to see how this routine effects my body :)
II: Last night we began Good Dog Training. Really I think it should be named Good Owner Training because most of Gris' behavioral issues are a result our actions. Already after one night I feel like we've gotten our $60 worth. The instructor is very knowledgeable and genuinely excited about helping us have a better experience with our dogs. She's made herself available via phone and email for any questions throughout the class - and I'm guessing she'll be open to help for the long haul! Rather then creating dominance over the dog - they now teach leadership - hopefully Gris will know he's NOT the leader soon! This week we'll be working on getting Grisman's attention (eye contact), teaching him to sit using a hand motion - not command, and teaching him to come when called. I think Gris will enjoy training because it involves lots of treats!! Maybe I'm idealistic - but I'm already super excited about having a trained, well-behaved Grisman!! (Which hopefully won't be nullified when he visits Grandpa!)
III: Last night was also our first official pre-marital counseling session with a couple from NLCF. The first four meetings include 2 other couples and the last few will be 1v1 with a mentor couple. So far it's good. We'll have reading and assignments from multiple books including Preparing for Marriage and Fit to be Tied. Thankfully they skip over the corny stuff and only ask us to read the beneficial things :) I'm looking forward to the things we'll learn about marriage and each other. Part of this week's assignment involves sending a questionnaire to our parents - that should be fun to read! I'm also looking forward to our unofficial counseling sessions with M & N and anyone else who wants to shower us with wisdom! :)
IV: Hopefully this week of new beginnings will be capped off with the entrance of my niecephew into the world on Friday!! She/He's not due until March 2nd - but I'm a number person - and 23 is significant - so I'm hoping that's the birthday!!

Happy Mardi Gras!!

...or is it Merry Mardi Gras? Whichever - hope you have fun earning beads today :)
A friend of mine from Leadership NRV 2006 hosted a Come Party in Our French Quarter party at the Jefferson Center this past weekend with some of her tri buddies. Let me first congratulate them for the best evite response I've ever seen.
T and I had a good time even though I only knew 3 of the 123 people :) Here's a pic of the hostesses (notice all the decorations in the background, they went all out!) and of us (yes I look goofy).

The celebration is not over! We're looking forward to a Mardi Gras Supper Club this Saturday hosted by Joel :) Jambalaya, Gumbo, Muffaletta, Shrimp something, Pralines, Beignets, Cream Cheese Ice Cream, King Cake, Chicory coffee, and Hurricanes!! mmm mmm It'll be just like feasting in the French Quarter :)
Laissez les bons temps rouler.

T and I went to Hampton this weekend for Angela and Corey's wedding shower. Lucky Gris was allowed to come along and meet his cousins. Gizmo wasn't all that interested in Gris - but boy was Chase glad to have a new friend!! Chase was the ever present annoying little bro who wouldn't leave Gris alone. They spent much of the weekend playing tug of war. Enjoy :)

I was shooting pictures like a proud mom! Kinda Scary :) But they were sooo cute! I even told T on the way home I'd support him finding a full time friend for Gris!! Ahhh! What's come over me????

LOST

From TV Week: In a highly unusual move for a broadcast series, ABC and the producers of "Lost" are in discussions to determine an end date for the show.
Woohoo!! They will get off the island!! We're watching season 2 right now trying to catch up, and I'm getting a little bored. Knowing there's at least one more season to watch makes me frustrated - how long until they get off the island - how much crazier can the plot become? I was getting close to giving up on the show. Now that I know it will end, and they will be saved (well I don't know this part), I'm re-energized to catch up!
We have 15 more episodes between seasons 2 and 3 to catch up on before 307 airs on Feb 7th.
Translation - the next three weekends will involve LOST marathons :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Wow - It's been almost of a month since I blogged! With Christmas, work, wedding planning, and getting back to the gym the time has flown by. I'll do my best to post more regularly :)
Christmas is officially over, the celebrating part at least. Now I just need to remove all traces of decorations from the house. The tree is down :) (well, one of them) Hopefully I can put away the rest this weekend.
Our big project at work goes live on Friday - woohoo!
The main pieces of the wedding have been planned - place, date, dress, caterer, cake, flowers, photographer, etc. All we have let to figure out are the details - oh yeah - and the honeymoon! We set the menu last night - Baked Swordfish w/ Lobstercrumb Topping and Roast Tenderloin of Beef Sauce Bearnaise. Check out our wedding webpage.
The gym. I think I'm going to sign up for a triathlon or two this year. For now I'm just trying to make it to the gym every morning. Soon I'll pick a race and set my training plan!
